Target Classification Using Passive Radar ISAR Imagery

This paper presents a study about the possibility of using Passive Radar ISAR imaging for target classification. Some features are proposed which allow to separate target classes using simple classifiers. Due to the lack of big databases for training and testing, the study is focused on the pre-processing chain to calculate useful features related to the target properties, that are useful for target classification. Features are useful if the values for different classes are separable in the features space. The possibility of designing target classifiers is demonstrated for the first time with Passive Radar ISAR imagery.
