Faculty Perceptions of Nursing Student Preparation in Undergraduate Clinical Simulation

摘要
Background: Simulation use is widespread in undergraduate nursing programs and best-practices for student preparation are important to define. Method: A qualitative descriptive study was conducted using semistructured interviews with nursing faculty representing various programs (N = 8). Conclusion: Three distinct elements of the student preparation phase were defined and the following terms are recommended for future use to ensure consistency (1) student preparation activities, (2) orientation, and (3) prebrief. Two characteristics of student preparation were identified - variation and leveling. (C) 2020 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Published by Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
