摘要
The tourism sector in Malaysia has reached a growth rate of 30 per cent annually. As a well-known ecotourism destination in the region, the homestay programme has become increasingly important for the development of community-based tourism. In Malaysia, the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development have been promoting the homestay programme to enhance the quality of living of local hosts. The focus of this study is to explore the compatibility of homestay programmes with sustainable community development.
