Prevention of attacks of atrial fibrillation by amiodarone in outpatient setting

Amiodarone (sedocorone, 200 mg/day) was used in 72 patients with ischemic and valvular heart disease. Duration of treatment was 1,5-2 years. The efficacy of the drug was high. In 90,3% of patients attacks of atrial fibrillation were either prevented or their number was substantially reduced. In most patients there were no serious cardiac or extracardiac complications.
