摘要
Large quantities of construction and demolition (C&D) waste generated in cities and the disposal is becoming major problem. In line with these thoughts, this study focuses on the utilization of construction waste to improve the performance of stone matrix asphalt (SMA) in terms of mechanical, volumetric, and moisture susceptibility and propose the suitable percentage of C&D waste from the mixes. From this investigation, it is observed that the stability, flow, bulk density, voids filled in bitumen, and Marshall quotient values are decreasing from conventional mix to modified mix. But, air voids and voids filled in mineral aggregate values are increasing from conventional mix to modified mix. The indirect tensile strength and tensile strength ratio values are decreasing from conventional mix to modified mix. From the results it is observed that 10% C&D waste is suitable to prepare SMA surface layer.
