Comparison of Essential Oil Yield and Essential Oil Compositions of Iranian and European Corianders (Coriandrum sativum L.)

In order to comparison of essential oil yield and essential oil compositions of Iranian and European corianders ( Coriandrum sativum L.), the seeds of both genotypes were planted in autumn in 2011 - 2012 in Esfahan province in central region of Iran. Characters such as seed yield, plant height, seed essence percentage and yield, linalool yield and essential oil quality were evaluated. Hydro-distilled essential oil constituents were identified by GC and GC-MS. According to the results, two genotypes had significant variation in occurrence of phenological stages, plant height, seed essence percentage and yield, and root length. There was no significant variation in emergency percentage. Iranian coriander had higher plant height (33 %), more yield seed (91 %) and CGR than European coriander. European coriander had more seed essence percentage(300 %) and seed essence yield (58 %) than Iranian coriander. Both of genotypes were belongs to one chemotype with 71 % linalool.
