WDM transmission experiments at 32 x 10 Gb/s over nonzero dispersion-shifted fiber and standard single-mode fiber

摘要
We compare two terrestrial transmission experiments at 32 x 10 Gb/s over standard single-mode fiber and over nonzero dispersion-shifted fiber. Despite the same signal-to-noise ratios at receiver end, error-free transmission of the whole multiplex could only be achieved with the first fiber scheme.
