摘要
Degradation of dye house effluent was studied using Trametes sp. isolated from contaminated soil and standard culture Trametes versicolor -138 MTCC. The fungal isolate was optimised for growth and biomass production with different carbon and nitrogen as energy sources using them before for decolorizing of the dye effluent. Glucose and ammonium sulfate were found to be effective carbon and nitrogen sources for the growth of fungal species. The optimum growth was observed at pH 6.0 and temperature 35 degrees C. No significant effect was observed by agitation in the biomass production. The efficacies of decolorization were compared with standard and isolated fungal cultures. Trametes versicolor similar to 138 MTCC recorded 76.07% while isolated Trametes sp recorded 87.21% color reduction. The pH and electrical conductivity (EC) were reduced in the treated effluent and reduction in Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), Chemical oxygen demand (COD), Total suspended solids (TSS) and Total dissolved solids (TDS) were also observed.
