摘要
We show that multilayer microstructures consisting of loop resonators exhibit characteristics for broadband-stop filters. The parameters describing the resonators have been varied to optimize their influences on the performances of the band-stop filters. By investigating near-field distributions and employing the coupled Drude-Lorentz-type resonance model, the mechanism for the broadband attenuation is attributed to longitudinal coupling between each layer and reinforced resonance within the planar microstructures. The multilayer microstructures can be modulated for tuning bandwidths and center frequencies as well as ensuring the same filtering effect regardless of the polarization.
