摘要
Obsessive-compulsive disorder is common debilitating psychiatric disorder. OCD should be treated when symptoms interfere with functioning. Pharmacolherapy mainly serotonin reuptake inhibitors and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy are recommended as safe and effective first-line treatments in OCD: Fluvoxamine is the serotonin reuptake inhibitor with the largest database in the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder, Serotonin reuptake inhibitors are the first line treatment in obsessive compulsive disorder. Their efficacy is well known in most of the obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders. Fluvoxamine's efficacy has shown in the treatment of both obsessive compulsive disorder and obsessive compulsive spectrum disorders in many studies. In this article psychiatric management, assessment and treatment of OCD and the role of fluvoxamine on the treatment of OCD and Obsessive Compulsive spectrum disorders was reviewed.
