Subcycling integration with non-integer time steps for structural dynamics problems

摘要
An explicit multi-time step integration algorithm is presented for structural dynamics equations. The scheme allows time steps that are non-integer multiples to be used for the different nodal partitions. A stability analysis of the method is given and critical time steps for the nodal subdomains are found to be dependent only on local parameters. The stability analysis can be extended to an arbitrary number of nodal groups. Numerical studies demonstrate the accuracy and stability of the method.
