This paper gives an overview of recent developments and the present situation at German universities with respect to research and teaching in psychoacoustics. It also mentions aspects of job perspectives for students with psychoacoustic expertise. This paper is based on information gathered by a working group within the technical committee Psychoacoustics of the German Acoustical Society (DEGA).
