摘要
A new non-enzymatic glucose sensor based on a polypyrrole coated nickel oxide (PPy-NiO) composite was developed. The morphology and composition of the synthesised composite are characterised by the field emission scanning electron microscope, X-ray powder diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectrum and thermogravimetric analysis. The electrocatalytic performances of the modified PPy-NiO/glassy carbon electrode (GCE) towards oxidation of glucose were evaluated by cyclic voltammograms and chronoamperometry method. The PPy-NiO/GCE exhibited excellent electrocatalytic behaviour towards glucose oxidation in alkaline medium and could detect glucose in a linear range of 0.01-0.50 mM and 1-20 mM with detection limit of 033 and 5.77 mu M, respectively. The sensitivity of the both ranges is 1094.80 mu A mM(-1) cm(-2) and 62.87 mu A mM(-1) cm(-2), respectively. The sensitivity and selectivity of the modified electrode towards glucose oxidation promise its effectiveness as a non-enzymatic glucose sensor for practical applications. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V.
