Fabrication-Tolerant Polarization Splitter and Rotator Based on Slanted Silicon Waveguides

摘要
A fabrication-tolerant and highly efficient polarization splitter and rotator (PSR) based on the slanted silicon waveguides is proposed and optimized by using the full-vectorial finite element method and three-dimensional full-vectorial finite difference time domain method. The numerically simulated results show that the proposed PSR is with ultra-low losses and with the high PERs of 19.92 and 40 dB at the cross-and through-ports, respectively. The fabrication tolerances are also studied for the proposed PSR.
