摘要
In this paper are presented some conclusions resulting from the experience of a five-year work with the wave models in the Portuguese nearshore. During this work was developed also original MATLAB software. Thus two interfaces were associated to the coastal wave modelling. One has capabilities for quick analyses of the data coming from the directional buoys or some other 'in situ' devices (CLIMAMAR), and the other was associated with the pre and post processing techniques, especially regarding the implementation of the wave models in the coastal environment and the evaluation of their results (TOTAL WAVE). Both modules are fully using the great capacities of the MATLAB environment for integrating high-performance computations with visualization effects.
