摘要
The aim of this article is to talk about Physical Education and the perspective of literacy, within the possibilities of teacher education. It is understood that the current educational scenario makes it necessary to re-read about the values and principles that govern the formation of teachers in Physical Education, with the intent ion of restructuring the plans and policies aimed at this area. For the structure of the work, there ore sections that deepen the discussion about the constitution of Physical Education as an area of knowledge; Physical Education and Literacy and Physical Education and Language. Then, there is a discussion about the possibilities of teacher education facing the challenges of contemporary times. Finally, it is understood that Physical Education and literacy are conceived as social practices, in their specificities,and cannot compose school curricula as mere techniques and detached skills of critical reflection.
