Preparation, characterization, and in vitro anti-inflammatory evaluation of novel water soluble kamebakaurin/hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex

摘要
To enhance the aqueous solubility of kamebakaurin (KA), it was complexed with hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin (HP-beta-CD). In this study, the interaction KA with HP-beta-CD and their inclusion complex behavior were determined by different characterization techniques such as UV-vis, H-1 NMR, FT-IR, PXRD and SEM. All the characterization information proved the development of inclusion complex KA/HP-beta-CD, and this inclusion complex demonstrated discriminable spectroscopic characteristics and properties from free compound KA. The results demonstrated that the water solubility of MA was remarkably increased in the presence of HP-beta-CD. Furthermore, in vitro anti-inflammatory study showed that inclusion complex KA/HP-beta-CD maintained the anti-inflammatory effect of KA. These results demonstrate that HP-beta-CD will be promisingly employed in the application of water-insoluble anti-inflammatory phytochemicals such as KA. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
