摘要
Objective: To investigate the tolerability and impact on quality of life using the liposomal nasal spray LipoNasal (R) Pflege (LN) for patients with a history of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Furthermore, symptom reduction and anti-symptomatic use of medication was tested. Methods: This prospective, controlled, open non-interventional study was conducted monocentrically. 25 patients with CRS were treated with the liposomal nasal spray LipoNasal. The study comprised five visits at an internal of 2 to 4 weeks. The efficacy was determined according to the daily documented Sinusitis-Symptom-Score. Additionally, a polyp score was obtained during the first and last visit in order to get a follow-up of the polyp size. The tolerability was tested by the nasal-spray-sensoricscale. The SNOT-20-Score served to test the quality of life (QoL). Results: LN achieved not only a significant reduction of sinusitic symptoms (p = 0.002), but also a rhinoscopic improvement (p = 0.003). The majority of the patients assessed the treatment as "good" or even "excellent". Moreover, QoL improved significantly during the therapy with LN (p = <0.001). Conclusion: The treatment of CRS with LipoNasal (R) Pflege results in a significant reduction of symptoms and a significant improvement of quality of life. The results demonstrate that a liposomal-based treatment for CRS proves to be a comparable alternative to a guideline-oriented treatment in patients with CRS.
