摘要：

Situated in Eastern Europe, Romania is home to a growing technology industry and has been dubbed the "Silicon Valley" of Central and Eastern Europe. The success of the country in producing talented IT and software engineers overshadows the element (and its forms) that has created this technology boom: silicon. The country is expanding its production of silicon-, silica-, and silicone-based materials. Some of the manufacturing companies involved in silicon-based processing are highlighted in this brief overview of the industry in Romania.
