摘要
We report the first hydrothermal RF (radio-frequency) sputtered tungsten (W) thin films. Platelike tungsten trioxide hydrate (WO3 center dot H2O) films with a thickness of ca. 1 mu m were obtained in nitric acid from a sputtered W layer on fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass. The platelike films change to monoclinic WO3 and become transparent after annealing at 450 degrees C Photoelectrochemical measurements of the annealed platelike films show incident photon-to-current conversion efficiencies higher than 90% at 340 nm at 1.2 V vs Ag/AgCl with a photocurrent of 1.81 mA/cm(2) under AM 1.5 G illumination. Our hydrothermal film synthesis technique offers an opportunity for fabrication of one-dimensional transparent metal oxide films with practical application in photoelectrochemical energy conversion.
