摘要
The aim of our study was to review how COVID-19 infection affects glycaemic control. We retrospectively reviewed case notes of 55 patients and found no episodes of uncontrolled hyperglycaemia in patients without pre-existing diabetes. Uncontrolled hyperglycaemia was only seen in patients with elevated HbA(1c), indicating pre-existing diabetes. While it is established that the presence of diabetes predisposes to severe clinical forms of COVID-19, it is yet to be determined if COVID-19 predisposes to diabetes or adverse glycaemic outcomes.
