New Fluorinated Poly(ether imide) Containing Anthracene Moiety

摘要
A new polyimide 1e was synthesized from 3,3',4,4'-benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride and 9, 10-bis [3'-trifluoromethyl-4' (4 ''-aminobenzoxy) benzyl] anthracene (TFAA) [1] by the thermal imidization route. Thermal, mechanical and optical properties of this polymer is compared with previously synthesized polyimides from PMDA (1a), 6FDA (1b), ODPA (1c) and BPADA (1d) with the same diamine. This polyimide showed very high thermal stability with decomposition temperature (5% weight loss) upto 538 degrees C in nitrogen. Transparent thin film of this poly(ether imide) exhibited tensile strength 80 MPa, modulus of elasticity 3.2 GPa and elongation at break 8%. This polyimide showed absorbance spectra in the visible region and broad peak in photoluminescence spectra at 600 nm.
