摘要
Reactive power compensation for solving voltage problem in PV farm based upon IEC 61850 is presented in this paper in order to control voltage within acceptable range. The Volt/VAR control is used in solar inverter of PV farm to improve power quality and also reduce the disconnection of solar inverter caused by overvoltage. So, the owner of PV farm will get more opportunity to sell solar electricity back to the grid. For Volt/VAR control, solar inverter with PQ mode is used to control the active and reactive power of the system. Electricity data from substation are sent to PLC based upon IEC 61850, which is the standard communication of electrical substation system. In this paper, simulation result verifies that Volt/VAR can be improve a power quality in a PV farm.
