摘要：

The monograph by A.S. Medyakov examines the features of existence and functions of the German postcard during the First World War. The Author pays a close attention to the coverage of the complex nature of a postcard, which reflected the individual and the common, the private and the public, the connection between the front and the rear. Analysis of the German wartime postcards offered explanatory models of the nature of the war, created images of the German nation, its allies and enemies in the armed conflict.
