The purpose of the Foundation's conferences on systems validation is to examine topics in depth. The 1994 meeting covered the Validation of laboratory Information Management Systems [1]. The 1995 meeting was concerned with: (1) Conducting vendor audits-important because of the FDA's consideration of adding a vendor audit requirement to GMPs/GLPs. (2) Validation of data acquisition systems. (3) The impact of data interchange standards on systems validation. Each of the sessions consisted of presentations followed by an open forum of questions and discussion.
