Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is among the most frequent comorbidities occurring in the course of Parkinson's disease (PD), and therefore, most PD patients receive antidepressant drugs. Agomelatine is a recently introduced antidepressant drug acting as an MT1/MT2 melatonergic receptor agonist and 5HT(2C)/5HT(2B) serotonergic antagonist. The aim of this case series was to evaluate the role of agomelatine in the treatment of MDD associated with PD.
