Impact of physical activity on the perception of physical self-concept in university students

摘要
The purpose of this research is to determine the changes produced by Physical Activity on the perception of Physical Self-Concept in university students of 1st and 2 second semester of 2020-1, in the classes of the Henri Didon Chair. The participants were 177 students, aged 16 to 25 years (18.3 +/- 1.62). Correlational, descriptive design was used. Correlational, descriptive design was used. To me-asure the Physical Self-Concept, the Physical Self-Concept Questionnaire (CAF) Goni et al., (2006) of pre-and post-test was administered. Participants completed a Physical Activity program for 14 weeks. The analysis was performed using co-rrelation tests (Pearson) and marginal homogeneity (McNecmar) for the different dimensions of CAF. The results show that Physical Activity produces changes that directly infer in the perception of physical self-concept; the correlation analyses show differences between the pre and post test of the dimensions of the Physical Self-Concept where the ability, condition, strength, attractiveness and general physical self-concept, after the intervention produced a considerable positive change, very strong positive and statistically significant for the dimensions ability, condition and physical strength. On the other hand, the dimension of general self-concept presented a mean positive correlation, the change was smaller in relation to the other dimensions, but not statistically significant.
