摘要
We suggest a method by which the thinnest possible uniform isotopic targets may be produced in favourable cases, by bonding a monolayer to a diamond substrate, for use in nuclear level studies at maximum energy resolution. The need to deconvolve the target thickness contribution, or concern about its possible non-uniformity, fall away. We illustrate with a new measurement of the proton energy width of the C-13(p, gamma)N-14 resonance at 550 keV. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
