摘要
The high temperature oxidation behavior of medium chromium ferritic stainless steels containing different contents of alloying elements, cerium (Ce) and tungsten (W) was explored at 1200 degrees C for 2 h in air. Under this oxidation condition, breakaway oxidation did not occur in all the specimens. A multilayer oxide film formed on all of the four steels, showing spinel oxide (Cr, Mn)(3)O-4 on top of the Cr2O3 layer. A discontinuous SiO2 layer existed at oxide/metal interface. The top layer Cr-Mn spinel oxide exerts significant influence on the oxidation behavior of Fe-Cr alloys. The addition of cerium and tungsten has little influence on the oxidation behavior of ferritic stainless steels. (C) 2018 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
