Computational damage analysis of short fibre-reinforced composite materials

摘要
A gradient damage technique with a transient nonlocal character is presented to remedy some shortcomings of existing gradient-enhanced damage formulations in problems with significant crack openings. The effectiveness of the method is illustrated by an application on short glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene. A global and local comparison between experimental and numerical results is made.
