摘要
Despite the improvement in chelating therapy, endocrinologic complications are well documented in patients with hemoglobinopathies requiring frequent and recurrent blood transfusion. The most common e findings are delayed puberty and growth failure. Less commonly seen are bone loss, hypothyroidism, and hyperglycemia. In this review, we will explore these complications and discuss management strategies.
