Effect of metal explosion foil on results of flyer initiating explosives

摘要
The initiating system using electrically exploded metal foils to accelerate small flyer can make the velocities of flyer to 4-5 000 m/s. The flyer can provide a high impact pressure to initiate explosives. Metal foil is an important element in the system of flyer initiating explosive. The time of metal foil explosion is about 1-2 mu s. When conduct time is long, the metal foil can't explosion and it will only be melt as a fuse. In order to ensure the work of metal foil normally, the metal foil thickness can be selected as 5 gm, the length and width of metal foil is 1 mmx 1 mm. By experimental testing, it is found that the time of metal foil damaged is 1.8 mu s and can meet the need of flyer initiating system.
