摘要：
This paper represents a synthesis of the key aspects regarding the digital signature, based on the personal expertise and experience of the authors, acquired from their position of pioneers as effective promoters of the digital signature in Romania. Legislative aspects, including definitions introduced by laws, the principle of the digital signature, its mathematical base, the manner in which the documents are signed, the verification, respectively the validation of signature and the way in which the confidentiality is assured are presented.
