摘要
CONCRETE AS A SHIELDING MATERIAL IN NUCLEAR ENERGY CONSTRUCTIONS Cement-Wapno-Beton, Vol. XVIII/LXXX, 2013, No 2, p.115 Concrete is a basic material for protection shields against radiation because of its relatively low cost and ability to perform structural functions. Concretes for shields have to be composed and executed especially for purpose in order to satisfy various requirements, related non only to attenuation of different forms of radiation but also for expected durability. In the paper main problems related to designing such concretes and their execution are described on the basis of the present state of knowledge. In view of future investments in nuclear energy in Poland, it is necessary to upgrade our level of knowledge and technology in this part of material engineering; this seems to be independent on the way in which these projects will be realized.
