The importance of academia industry collaboration programs

The industries have a number of problems that need investigations about which the industry is unaware or;lacks necessary expertise. In such cases, there will be a greater need for institution/industry interaction for the R&D activities and supply of skilled and qualified technical manpower. Case studies presented in the paper confirm that the symbiotic relation between the industry and the institution can be extremely beneficial to both. The technological changes taking place in the world around us demand a result-oriented interaction between the industry and institution. The present paper is an attempt made to project the importance of industry/institution collaboration programmes which provide enoromous scope for callaboration to reap mutual benefits.
