Phonon sideband spectrum and vibrational analysis of Eu3+-doped niobium oxyfluorosilicate glass

摘要
Eu3+-doped niobium oxyfluorosilicate glass with molar composition of 1Eu(2)O(3)+20Nb(2)O(5)+2OK(2)O+ 19ZnF(2)+10LiF+30SiO(2) (EuNKZLS) was prepared by the melt quenching method. Absorption, photoluminescence and phonon sideband (PSB) spectra were recorded to estimate the local structural evolution. The local structure around the Eu3+ ions and the phonon energy (645 cm(-I)) of EuNICZLS glass were confirmed on the basis of PSB spectrum associated with the F-7(0)-> D-5(2) transition. The structure of EuNICLS glass in the broad compositional range has been determined from the Raman spectrum. The extent of coupling between the vibrational modes and electronic transitions along with the multiphonon relaxation process has also been discussed. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
