摘要
The elastic properties of calcite have been determined by Brillouin spectroscopy for temperatures up to 600 degrees C. The results reveal that the variations of the aggregate bulk (K-VRH) and shear (G(VRH)) moduli of calcite with respect to temperature can be approximately expressed as follows: K-VRH(GPa) = 79.57 - 0.0230 T (T in degrees C) G(VRH)(GPa) = 32.23 - 0.0097 T. This indicates a nearly constant Poisson's ratio (0.322) for calcite from 22 to 600 degrees C. A further analysis shows that the compressibility along the c axis (beta(parallel to)) and that perpendicular to the c axis have comparable contributions to the volume compressibility of calcite, although the contribution of beta(parallel to) decreases with an increase in the temperature.
