摘要
In this contribution a short history is given about the introduction of non-electrostatic interactions in the Poisson Boltzmann equation, starting from insufficient first-order dispersion forces up to very recent approaches, in which both water-surface and ion-surface profiles inferred from molecular dynamics simulations are utilized. This new approach can also be used to explain specific ion adsorption on electrodes.
