Employment and unemploymentaremonitoredand oftendiscussedindicatorswhich complement thecharacteristics of thecountry development, assess the situationandpotential,openspace toresolve importanttasks of government. Support of employmentallowsalleviate unemployment, improve living standardand ensure theirsocial securities. The paper deals withunemploymentin differentregions of Slovakia, analyzes thecauses andfactors ofthe unemployment development, refers torelations betweenpersonnel costs, minimum wage andprovides adraft of the measuresto increase employmentin problematicregions.The mainaim of this paperis identification of factors which allows support employmentin selected regionsandproposal of measuresproviding fora reduction ofunemployment.
