Shunt active power filter application to reduce the harmonics of current with photovoltaic generation grid-tied

摘要
The shunt active power filter is studied when a photovoltaic generation system is connected to the common coupling point at the same time as a load (linear or nonlinear), because nowadays the use of nonlinear loads is increasing in the industry, commerce, and domestic appliances. This leads to increased the Total Harmonic Distortion in the electrical grid. The modeling of the photovoltaic system is developed, the controller for the APF is designed using instantaneous power theory. In all cases the effect of shunt APF is analyzed. The simulations were performed using the Matlab/Simulink. In the first and second case the THD does not vary much because they are linear loads, in the third case the THD of the current decreases from 117, 12 % to 18, 94 % and in the fourth case the load causes the THD to rise to 420, 51 % and the action of the APF causes it to decrease to 33, 39 %.
