摘要
In this paper, the crack propagation in the Carbon nanotube (CNT) based composite has been analyzed using extended finite element method (XFEM). The parameters like stress intensity factor (SIF) and J-Integral have been calculated using contour integral method. Results show that the crack tends to propagate in the direction of its initial position and the highest propensity of crack propagation is observed at the mid length of the composites. The stress intensity factor shows sensitive dependence on CNT parameter as it decreases with the increase in length of composite and increases with increase in diameter of CNT.
