Ferroelectric phase transition of (CH3)2NH2H2PO4 and crystal structures of the ferroelectric and paraelectric phases

摘要
(CH3)(2)NH2H2PO4 undergoes paraelectric-ferroelectric phase transition at 259.15 K. The results of X-ray crystal structure study of (CH3)(2)NH2H2PO4 in paraelectric and ferroelectric phases with application of the single crystal diffractometer with the CCD detector are presented. The crystal structure was determined in the paraelectric phase at room temperature (space group P2(1)/n) and in the ferroelectric phase (space group Pn) at 220 K. It was found that the phase transition is coupled with an ordering of hydrogen bonds rather than a rotation of dimethylammonium cations. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
