摘要
A cross-sectional study was conducted on 44 children (<14years) with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and an attempt was made to compare the various mucocutaneous manifestations in the untreated and treated groups and to study any correlation of mucocutaneous manifestations with their CD4 counts. Viral infections were the most common manifestation. Discoid dermatitis and ashy dermatosis were also seen in our study. The study of mucocutaneous manifestations is particularly important in resource poor developing countries, where some of them can act as markers of HIV and make up for lack of investigations for early detection of HIV.
