摘要：

The aim of this article is to make out the principles of variation of the meaning of the adjective grand. The paper outlines to this purpose a 'schematic form' as an access to the identity of the word. On a wider ground, the analysis investigates the way the variation stretches out in the semantics of lexical items. The authors also account for the reason why the meaning of the adjectives proves to be so fluctuating, and consider the types of parameters and configurations at stake.
