Anti-Colon Cancer Activity of a Novel Cocrystal Inorganic-Organic Compound and its Related Coordination Complex

Two new crystalline compounds (Hdipb)(4)/W10O32/H2O(1) and {[Cu-2 (dipb)(5)(H2O)(4)] (W10O32)}(n) (2) have been successfully prepared by reaction of Na4W10O32 (W10O32) and 4 ,4'-di(1H-imidazol- 1-yl)-1 ,1'-biphenyl) (dipb) ligands without or with Cu(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O under different reaction conditions. The X-ray study analysis reveals that compound 1 locates in the triclinic space group P-1 with H-bonding interaction formed by the 4,4'-di(1H-imidazol-1-yl)-1,1'-biphenyl ligand and W10O324- molecules, while compound 2 features a 2D layered framework structure based on the six-coordinated Cu(II) ion. In addition, in vitro anticancer activity of compounds 1 and 2 on three human colon cancer cells (HT-29, SW480 and SW620) was further determined.
