Preparation of lead oxoalkoxides from lead oxide

摘要
Lead all;oxides of the types Pb4O(OR)(6) and Pb6O4(OR)(4) were prepared from PbO and the corresponding alcohols in good yields. Alkoxide exchange reactions extend the number of compounds accessible by this synthesis route. This synthesis avoids the preparation of educts like Pb[N(SiMe3)] which were used in earlier work. Due to their high solubility in alcohols, lead oxoalkoxides can provide valuable educts for the sol-gel preparation of lead containing ceramics. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
