摘要
Azo compounds (1-3) were synthesized by reacting diazonium salt of aniline with different aromatic aldehydes such as salicylaldehyde, 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde, and 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde. Different primary amines, namely, 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole, 4-aminophenazone and 4-aminopyridine were treated with synthesized azo compounds to afford respective derivatives (4-12). Screening of all the synthesized compounds for their antifungal activity against Fusarium moniliforme and Macrophomina phaseolina was done by poisoned food technique. Concentrations used for these tests were 1000, 500, 250, 100 and 50 mu g/ml. Derivatives of azo compounds were found to be more effective than their respective azo compounds against both the test fungi. All the synthesized compounds showed less activity than standard fungicide bavistin against both fungi at all concentrations. [GRAPHICS] .
