摘要
Cavitation erosion is a root factor causing hydraulic pump failure, especially using tap water or seawater as working medium. Based upon low frequency pressure fluctuation, which is an important cavitation-associated phenomenon, mechanisms of pump cavitation inception and elements of pump outlet pressure are analyzed in this paper. A number of pump experimental tests were carried out at pressure of 2.0MPa and speed of 800 rpm. The experimental results of power spectra for the water hydraulic port-valve piston pump have shown the effects of cavitation and inner leakage on three character parameters of pump outlet pressure fluctuation. Some criteria to identify cavitation inception have been suggested and verified by experiments in this paper, which can be applied to water hydraulic piston pumps and also other hydraulic piston pumps using other types of working medium.
