摘要
This paper describes a very high-speed fiber transmission system (FA-10G/2.4G) for providing the multimedia backbone network. This system has the advantage of bit-rate upgradability from 2.4 Gbit/s up to 10 Gbit/s because optical amplifiers are used as linear repeaters. Terminals are designed to convey four types of virtual container, VC-3, VC-4, VC-4-4c and VC-4-16c. In order to supervise all repeaters remotely, a new repeater management function is realized.
