摘要
In this paper the design and development of a wireless heart rate and oxygen saturation monitor based on low cost microcontrollers is described. Pulse oximetry is used to measure these vital signs. This is a non-invasive method that uses two light sources at different wavelength and a photodetector to capture the amount of light that is transmitted through the tissue. The signal captured is called the photoplethysmogram signal (PPG). Oxygen saturation (SpO2) and heart rate (HR) is obtained from the analysis of the PPG signal. The system is connected to a local area network through a wireless communication module; the information is transmitted in real time to a webpage allowing the monitoring of a patient remotely. The measurements obtained are compared with a commercial pulse oximeter using the Bland-Altman method. The obtained results show the good performance of the proposed system.
